Dr. David Tschirley is Professor, Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University and Co-director of its Food Security Group. One key focus of his work is agrifood system transformation in Africa focusing on diet change and its implications over a range of policy and programmatic issues, including employment. He is the author of over 25 journal articles, several book chapters, one edited book volume, and dozens of working papers and policy briefs. David has consulted for and otherwise served the World Food Programme and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, USAID, World Bank, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The MasterCard Foundation, and others.
